De 1986 à 1996, Éric Goulet est chanteur et guitariste du groupe Possession Simple. Goulet fonde ensuite Les Chiens en 1997. Durant les années 2000, Goulet poursuit en parallèle une carrière solo et sort deux albums sous le pseudonyme de Monsieur Mono qui connaîtront un succès inattendu.
